MY MAKE UP AUTUMN UPDATE

Its that time of year again where we start to alter our make up to the weather, over the (very short) summer months our make up can be quite high maintenance, we try our best with primers and setting sprays to avoid the inevitable problems we face, our make up creases and basically starts to disappear slowly of our faces, but then comes autumn, we can get away with a higher coverage foundation, a little less bronzer & our palettes change from pastels and brights to browns and plums.

What better excuse than an upcoming change of seasons to update your make up collection with new shades & products, not that we need an excuse, right?!

Clinique lip pop matte in Blushing pop

CHOOSING A DARKER LIP

Its time to put away those pinks & reserve them for special occasions, swap your balms for lipsticks & be a bit more daring with darker, bolder shades. Cliniques lip pop matte is the perfect addition to your make up bag, it comes in a variety of shades which will no doubt compliment your a/w wardrobe, it glides on a dream & doesn't leave your lips looking dry like some matte lipsticks can.

For application, I applied a lip balm whilst doing my make up, blotted my lips once I was ready to apply my lipstick, used the nyx lip liner in nude suede shoes as a base to ensure long lasting colour, then simply just applied the lipstick, I didn't have to reapply all day, even after eating (we went to the trafford centre & had Pizza hut, it was amazing!)

Mac studio fix foundation // Mac blusher in Melba // Mac mineralise skin finish

REINTRODUCING YOUR HIGHER COVERAGE FOUNDATION

Over the warmer months I favour my Mac prolonger foundation, it doesn't crease or slide around (on my skin) and stays put all day, but as it approaches a/w I like to go a bit more full coverage & switch to my studio fix.

Ive always found foundations to be one of the hardest things to get right, some days we might be a little bit drier or oilier than usual which can mean or usual foundation won't apply the same, so I do like to have a few options to hand, so even though my studio fix will be my a/w go to foundation, prolongwear will still make an appearance for days I need a lighter longer wearing base.

Urban Decay naked 2 palette

CHOOSING A NEUTRAL  PALETTE

Speaking in Urban Decay terms (if your familiar with the brand), it can be as simple as swapping your Naked 3 palette (pinks) for your Naked 2 palette or you could even mix the two together whilst were transitioning seasons.

The shades in the Naked 2 palette are perfect to take you all the way through a/w, the shimmer shades being perfect for the festive season.

To help get you started House of Fraser currently have a beauty event on giving you £10 off when you spend £50 on one of their beauty favourites, including the Naked 2 palette, which is running until the 11th of september & whats even better, when you spend over £50 you also pay no delivery charges, perfect!
